Its been a long time

Well its been a while since we posted and a lot has happened.


We last posted in Nov 08 and sadly on the 25th December 08 Anne suffered a tragic loss with the death of her husband Mike.

An avid supporter of WSH, Mike was always thinking of ways to promote the Welsh Sport Horse and his journalistic background helped immensly to get our venture off the ground.

Mike was well known, both locally and Nationally and his death was a huge loss to Anne and the equine world.


2009 came upon us in a blur but we were fortunate again to find excellent owners for our youngstock:


Marchell One and Only (Bluewell Stop The War x Erwfforch Dewin Direudus) became the property of Alexia Page of the Floreat Stud and has continued to bloom.We have high hopes for her future and wait avidly for her appearance under saddle.


Pentaran Modern Edition (Taboo x Derwen Trot On) was sold to a local gentleman and to date , remains in the locality.


WSH Something New (Padrig Something Blue x Erwfforch Dewin Direuds) , a stunning part bred filly remians with us and her movement and talent is a true legacy to her sire.



We had a very busy stud season, much to our surprise.The constant talk of recession and cut backs did not bode well for a 'hobby' industry but we appeared to have bucked the trend.We were particularly busy with the A.I. side of the business with many visiting mares using a range of both UK and European stallions with much success.

Autumn was a period of re-grouping and planning for the future of WSH however another devastating blow was ahead with the unexpected illness which struck down our beloved Erwfforch Dewin Direudus . Dewin was considered a spring chicken at the age of 17 years however he suddenly began to drop weight.Despite lengthy veterinery intervention we sadly lost Dewin on the 4th Dec 2009. A true gentleman to the end, Dewin was a best friend, a magnificent talent and a fantastic stock getter. His legacy lives on in his offspring.
